Cheap Thrills is released

Big Brother and the Holding Company release Cheap Thrills, their second studio album and the last with Janis Joplin. The album reaches number one on the Billboard charts in its eighth week and by the end of the year is the most successful album of 1968, having sold nearly one million copies.
